I am ALWAYS looking for ways to get more active, lose a few pounds and just overall feel better. Just recently, I was introduced to Fitbit Ultra. It was like an answer to a prayer, literally.
Over the summer, it’s a lot easier to be active here in the MidWest but as the fall season approaches I need some motivation to get me moving in the colder temperatures. This is where the FitBit Ultra comes in.
What is FitBit Ultra?
It is a wireless activity and sleep tracker that measures steps taken, distance traveled, stairs climbed and calories burned for efficient monitoring of your workout progress. For the ultimate in convenience, you can attach to your belt, pocket or even to your bra.
It comes with one Fitbit Ultra Wireless Activity and Sleep Tracker, a base station/charger (no batteries required, yay!), a sleep wristband and a belt holster.
How will FitBit make Fitness AWESOME?
A friend overheard me talking about my new activity tracker and she asked, “Is that a pedometer?” I paused and said, “HECK NO, this is much more than a simple pedometer. Here’s some of the features I outlined for her:
- The Fitbit very accurately (a pleasant surprise for me) measures steps taken, distance traveled, stairs climbed and calories burned! It does this via the 3D motion sensor and altimeter. Furthermore, it measures how long and well you sleep using the super soft Fitbit wristband that is included.
- It wirelessly auto uploads your fitness data to the Fitbit web site, so you can easily monitor your workout progress and utilize other free online tools at Fitbit.com. I love how it does then when I sit down at my computer, without me having to do anything extra.
- Even if your not near a computer you can use the mobile app that’s available for both iPhone and Android to log your activities and your food and water intake on the go.
- and so much more like a stopwatch, clock and an ability to interact with your Fitbit friends online! You can even share your stats to Facebook and Twitter too!
What if I am technologically challenged? Is it easy to set up?
One of the hardest things when getting a new gadget for me is the initial setup. With Fitbit, its super simple. It took me about 30 seconds to un-package the fitbit from the box, plug in to the computer and log in to Fitbit.com. I am really not exaggerating here. Fitbit is a high tech tracker without the frustration. I would guarantee that almost anybody could set one of these up. Take a look at the steps, below. It’s so EASY to get started with Fitbit!
